This black and white photograph of a Douglas Dakota C-47 Skytrain is a close up from the rear of the wing showing the famous black and white stripes which made it easy to identify from the ground as it was flying overhead. These aircraft were used as Military transport in WW2 and were sent to Normandy on D-day to parachute troops into France to liberate the French from German occupation.

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain was the military version of the original DC-3 which had been used as a passenger plane before the war.

The shape of man-made designs like cars and architecture excite me but I also love nature, from the joy of looking at the ever changing clouds in the sky to the intricate detail that is revealed when getting up close and personal with flowers and seashells.
