Description
©Gill Billington. All rights reserved. Once magnificent, a lightning bolt delivers it's death strike to these ancient oak trees, now dead and decaying in this barren landscape. This dark, moody surreal artwork looks very atmospheric in black and white. The result of environmental changes, these dramatic skeletal trees, home now to owls and other wildlife, can be seen in the field behind the churchyard in Mundon, Essex in the UK.

Extraordinary capture Gill! The light contrasts and tone of the tree trunk alone are gorgeous, then to capture an amazing lightning is unbelievable! Excellent work!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

Enjoy your coffee Joe! When I look through the photographs I have taken, I am always thinking, how can I add some drama and make the final image unique! Hope you noticed the owl!

Oh no you "did-unt"!!! That is, you were you really quick enough to capture that lightning bolt or was that photoshopped in? There are those who execute with consulate skill--you are one. Then there are those who also find something unique--you too there. And then there is a feeling in your work that goes very well with my morning coffee.
