Description
©Gill Billington. All rights reserved. It’s a blue sky day in summer with just a few fluffy white clouds. At the airfield there are two American icons. A vintage Mustang airplane, the classic p-51 from WW2 parked behind a stunning 69 Mustang convertible in blue, showing off the beautiful white interior with the top down on this glorious sunny day.
The p-51 is named Miss Helen and the 352nd Fighter group that flew her from RAF Bodney in England from 1945 were nicknamed The Blue Nose Bastards of Bodney after the way the aircraft was painted with a blue nose and cowl.
